Messy Grace:  How a Pastor with Gay Parents Learned to Love Others without Sacrificing Conviction

Mondays at 7:00pm with Todd Foster and Pastor Austin Bailey beginning April 23rd.  In our culture there are just some topics you cannot discuss in certain circles.  Even in the church we get uneasy talking about certain topics, mainly money and sexuality.  Truthfully though, if Jesus talked about them, well, then we have to as well.  Join us for a 5 week series following Caleb Kaltenbach's journey in Messy Grace.  The video series will follow Caleb's book and four individuals as they journey navigating God's word and their sexual orientations.  Course strictly limited to an enrollment of 16.  Get ready:  this is about to get messy!  Register here.

Purpose Driven Life:  What on Earth am I Here For?

Thursdays at 7:00pm with Liz and Michael Schecher in Room 201 (Chapel) beginning April 26th.  This book study has impacted millions of people around the world, including Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.  Now, it’s your turn!  Join this 42 day spiritual journey that will enable you to discover the answer to life’s most important question: “What on earth am I here for?” By the end of this journey you will know God’s purpose for your life and will understand the big picture – how all the pieces of your life fit together.  Having this perspective will reduce your stress, simplify your decisions, increase your satisfaction, and, most important, prepare you for eternity.  Register here.

The Great Commission Begins:  The Book of Acts

Sundays at 8:30am with Bennett Kleinberg in Room 102 beginning April 22nd.  We will open our Bibles together and experience the birth of the Church.  We will see believers empowered by the Holy Spirit witnessing to the good news of Jesus Christ, among Jews and for the first time to Gentiles.  This exciting story includes the coming of the Holy Spirit, great speeches, Paul's transformation, persecution, a riot, shipwrecks, harrowing escapes, and journey narratives.  Whether you are a new believer, or a lifelong follower of Jesus, you will grow through our discussion. Register here.

Passing the Baton:  One Family's Personal Journey
in Rites of Passage

Sundays at 8:30am with Tim & Laurie DeValve in Room 201 (Chapel).  Many cultures throughout history have created “rites of passage” that define an adolescent’s progression to adulthood.  We have no such universally recognized rites in our modern Western culture, which often leaves young people struggling to find their own path in this journey.  When each of our sons completed college, I took them on a week-long trip with two purposes in mind: 1) to celebrate the completion of this milestone, and 2) to pass along some foundational principles as “rites of passage” for entering adulthood.  In this class we will discuss the principles I shared with my sons and talk about practical ways to build these principles into our children’s lives beginning from early childhood and continuing to the point when they are ready to embark on their own journey.  Register here.

Fierce Love Collective:  What to do with the Big Emotions of Motherhood

Sundays at 8:30am with Val Scheer and Ashley Bailey in Room 200H (Conference Room) beginning April 29th.  For any mother with children at home who has experienced emotions, thoughts or moods that feel too big for her heart to handle.  We can all agree that this mothering gig is not for the faint of heart ~ the statistics on mood and anxiety disorders among moms are staggering.  This small-but-mighty course is for any mom who has experienced anything from baby blues to postpartum depression, anxiety, scary thoughts, bipolar or panic disorder, and everything in between.  It offers a unique mix of practical tools and soul care.  Register here.

Some Pathways Courses are organized around a common interest or affinity or are for men or women exclusively. The topics are chosen by the class leaders and those who attend.  Please feel free to try out a class.  Contact Barbara Ettinger or the class leaders to learn more.  When a class meets throughout the year you are invited and encouraged to attend at any time.

Biblical Encouragement for Women

We can all use an encouraging word!  Gather with other women to read the Bible together, enjoy good conversation and learn what God has to say about the ways he encourages us in our day-to-day lives.  All are welcome.  Facilitators are Tammy Bourque and Liesl Wylie.  Join us on Sunday morning at 8:30am in the Gathering Place downstairs.

Spiritual Encouragement for Men

We are focused on doing the next "right" thing while becoming better men, husbands, fathers, sons and friends.  We meet Sunday mornings at 8:30am in Room 201A (Annex).
