Finding Meaning in Jesus' Parables
Jesus often taught by telling a particular kind of simple, direct little story called a parable. In addition to the simple story, parables were also packed observations about human behavior and cultural truths that the hearers would consider and reflect on long after the story was finished.
This class will focus on exploring a few parables Jesus told to his listeners in the first century in order to apply the truth of Jesus to our own lives. The first class will be addressing the question: What is a parable anyway? ...and why should I care? Come with your Bible and your curiosity and be prepared to experience the richness of Jesus' teaching. This discussion based class will be facilitated by Dale Shannon.
