EPIC

On April 8th and 9th Trinity hosted the EPIC Workshop which was taught by John Wenrich, Director of Congregational Vitality for the Covenant.  The 90 attendees were introduced to the next step in the Vitality process.  EPIC, which stands for Empowering People Inspiring Change, does not teach our church body what to change, but how to work through change in a way that is civil, compassionate, and Christ-honoring.  John spoke about how spirituality, chemistry, and strategy impact our church and how to lead healthy, missional change.

Our Vitality process began in November when we hosted the Veritas Workshop with record setting attendance!  Veritas introduced the 140 attendees to the marks of a healthy missional church and the four types of established churches in the Covenant.  Shortly after the Veritas event, a Vitality team was formed.  The team will be gathering and looking at information about our congregation and our surrounding community.  They will also look at ways in which we are a healthy missional church and areas that God may be calling us to develop and grow.  The team will be looking for input from individuals and groups throughout our congregation.

If you were unable to attend either the Veritas or EPIC workshops and would like to learn more about the Vitality process, DVDs may be borrowed by calling the church office or feel free to talk to any of the members of the Vitality Team.  The Vitality Team members are Dean Collins, Pastor Phil Hakanson, Carey Penney, Doug Scheer, Elena Shekleton and Curtis Willey.

And it will be said: “Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.” For this is what the high and exalted One says – he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with those who are contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” – Isaiah 57:14-16
