YOUTH MINISTRY PRAYER GUIDE 2007/08

We are asking for adults in our community of faith to commit to praying for our teenagers and the youth
ministry of Trinity Covenant Church on a regular basis.   We have developed this prayer guide to bring
us all together in common intercession to our Father in Heaven.  "Again, I tell you that if two of you on
earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in Heaven." Jesus (
Matt 18:19)  
How does it work?  You select THREE DAYS and times that work best for you each week.  Use this prayer
guide and spend some time in prayer for our youth.  This is done on your own, there is no group meeting.

Day One
Ephesians 1:15-23
Thanksgiving and Prayer

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may
give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.  I pray also that the eyes of your heart
may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance
in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of his mighty strength,
which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far
above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given , not only in the present age but also
in the one to come.  And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,
which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for our younger brothers and sisters, who are growing alongside us as a part of Your body.
May you work in their minds, and strengthen their hearts, Lord please protect their hearts as well and fill each student
with Your Spirit.  We pray that the hope Paul writes will encourage them daily, in ways that will be tangible to them.
 Lord, of all the demands the youth meet day in and day out, remind them of Your authority and assure them that
Your grace is more than sufficient.

Day Two
Ephesians 3:14-21
A Prayer for the Ephesians

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.  I pray
that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may
dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together
with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses
knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within
us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus, we believe that you have great things in store for our teenagers, we know that you will bless them all in ways they can not even fathom.  Lord in light of this truth we ask that you would grant them what their hearts desire,
so in that they would be encouraged to move ahead in life as your children and disciples. We thank you Lord for Your
love, which is so much more than what we can ever imagine. May the saints who have gone before us encourage
our youth to be models of what it means to follow Jesus Christ, and full of His love and power. May each leader be encouraged as well; bless each one as they volunteer their love and care towards the ministry. Sustain both youth and volunteers with Your love.In Your name we pray. Amen.

Day Three
I Corinthians 1:4-9

I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.  For in him you have been enriched in every way - in all your speaking and in all your knowledge - because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.  Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.  He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

Oh Lord, Your grace is what we ask for, even though You've given us grace through Your Son, Jesus Christ.  Grant us grace when we come into contact with teenagers, both in and out of church.  Help us to remember that they are growing and learning in many ways, just as we are still learning.  We pray for them, that their spiritual gifts will be revealed to them over time and that as they mature into adults they will use their gifts in school, fellowship and with their friends.

Lord, David writes of Your faithfulness throughout the Psalms and we see how wonderful it is that your faithfulness was also carried out by Jesus Christ, who grew up as a young man in the world.  Lord we ask that each teenager would see that Jesus is there to guide them.  Lord, You guided Your Son in faithfulness, and now we ask that You would do the same for the teenagers here in our church, bless them with discernment, and obedience to you alone.

Amen

Special Prayer for Seniors

  • For wisdom in selecting college/mission/job

  • to hear the Call of God's voice upon their lives

  • For Christian support if they move away from home

  • For strength to stand up and be a witness

  • to be Christ-like examples to the rest of the youth group.


Thank you for taking the time to pray for our Youth!!!  May God's Spirit fill your life to overflowing, call you to prayer often,  speak His words of life over and through you.   If you are using this prayer calendar, please take a moment to let us know.
