Why Jesus Came, Part 4: "To Save the Lost"
Pastor Phil Hakanson
Please join us at one of our two Christmas Eve services in our lovely decorated Sanctuary. The times are at 4:00 and 6:00. Child care will be provided for birth through age 4.
The Alpha Team is looking for two people to provide child care from 6:45-8:45pm for 12 Thursdays beginning January 16th. Child care providers are welcome to enjoy dinner each week from 6:00-6:45pm. Contact Mike Schecher.
During the 5 weeks in December we are inviting you to invite your unchurched friends and family members to what we are calling “Home for the Holidays”. These services have been planned around the seasonably appropriate theme of “Why Jesus Came” and will include the following texts and titles:
a. December 1: Mark 1:1-3: “Jesus came ‘To Bring Good News’!”
b. December 8: Mark 8:31-47 “Jesus came ‘To Set Us Free’!”
c. December 15: John 10:7-10 “Jesus came ‘To Give Life to the Full’!”
d. December 22: Luke 19:1-10 “Jesus came ‘To Save the Lost’!”
e. December 29: John 14:6-14 “Jesus came ‘To Show Us the Father’!”
In each of these services, both on Sunday mornings and in Tabernacle on Saturday nights, (please note that Tabernacle will not meet on the 14th) we will be preaching evangelistically—i.e. we will give those who are not presently followers of Jesus a clear and explicit opportunity to accept Him as their Savior and to encourage them to take a “next step” of faith. We’re going to sing a lot of familiar Christmas favorites and we are planning our services in such a way as to be particularly welcoming to those for whom “church” may be an unfamiliar and uncomfortable environment.
This awesome event is for high school students and is one of the highlights of our year. This year's speaker is Efrem Smith who was the CHIC pastor last summer. Propaganda, who was also at CHIC 2012, will be there. This weekend is definitely worth it. Do everything you can to attend and bring some friends with you.
Register today, so you don't miss out!
“A Season of Seeking”
November 4th - December 13th, 2013
- To seek God together as a community of faith for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit so that we might live out our vision with more passion and more results.
- To seek God’s blessing for Trinity Covenant Church and our community.
Our vision is to become a community of friends, encountering the living Christ, growing in grace, while loving God and serving others. We are also seeking to become a church for others.
This season will have two components:
1. A daily prayer guide based on the book of Ephesians.
2. Spiritual disciplines
These are optional activities that you can participate in individually, as a family, or with a cohort of friends. These are guidelines, feel free to modify as you wish. The important thing is that we are seeking the presence of God together.
Our worship times are at 9:00 & 10:45am. Here are some FAQ's for your review.
